Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search box passes directly to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider handles the query and supplies its result. We do not keep a separate log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email or direct message when needed to answer it. Access stays within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the server may receive routine technical details about that visit:
- Page-view dates and times
- Browser name and version
- Device category and operating system
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them
- A referring site, when one is supplied
- The internet protocol address assigned to the device
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and analytics services help combine traffic information, such as which pages are visited most and where visits end. A browser can block cookies through its settings, although doing so may change how some features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a search request to the provider that operates the tool
- Finding and repairing technical faults
- Maintaining reliable and efficient page delivery
- Understanding which resources visitors use
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Madison County content identifies the official routes to the sheriff, court clerks, Texas Department of Public Safety, and Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not turned into a third-party criminal file or a consumer report, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search tools. A query submitted there is governed by that provider's privacy terms, retention rules, and sharing practices rather than this policy. Read those terms before sending a search.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Madison County government, courts, Texas agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows one, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
An advertising provider may use its own systems to recognize activity across websites and select ads. We do not operate that tracking system.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:
- Analytics providers that measure use and performance
- Search providers that receive a query submitted through their tool
- Advertising networks that serve content on the pages
- A court, law enforcement agency, or government body acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security measures help protect collected data. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone younger than 18. If such data comes to our attention, we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Applicable privacy law may provide rights concerning personal information. Texas public records are separately governed by the Texas Public Information Act, while Government Code Chapter 411 controls dissemination of criminal history information. You may ask us to:
- Provide a copy of personal data we retain about you
- Correct inaccurate personal information we hold
- Delete retained data where applicable law permits
- Honor an available choice to opt out of certain processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as practices or legal duties change. A revised version will appear here with its new effective date.
