Terms of Use

These conditions govern use of Madison County Criminal History. Viewing its content or submitting a query means that you accept them. If you do not agree, discontinue use of the website.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no government affiliation. Neither the site nor its advertising partners offers a service for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another decision regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Its purpose is to identify Madison County and Texas public record resources. It is neither a consumer reporting agency nor a private investigation firm.

1. What This Website Is

Madison County Criminal History is a private reference site with no connection to a public office. It does not store official criminal files, perform official checks, retrieve records, or submit paperwork.

Its content identifies the Madison County Sheriff's Office, local court clerks, Texas Department of Public Safety, and Texas Public Sex Offender Registry as distinct record holders. Public agency disclosure is governed by laws such as the Texas Public Information Act and Government Code Chapter 411. Third-party tools may also be offered for independent research.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the website, you agree not to:

  • Use the service in violation of federal, state, or local law
  • Threaten, stalk, or harass another person with information found here
  • Use the content for a credit, employment, housing, or insurance decision
  • Attempt unauthorized access to any account, server, or system
  • Send bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools through the pages
  • Interfere with the site's operation or another visitor's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information obtained here or through a linked service must not be used to stalk, intimidate, threaten, harass, or discriminate. Misuse may violate civil or criminal law. That rule is especially important for Texas Public Sex Offender Registry information. Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 62 makes specified information public for community awareness, not for confrontation, vigilantism, or unlawful discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency as the FCRA defines that term. We do not create credit reports, consumer reports, or official background checks. Our advertising partners do not provide those services through this site. Content from these pages or a linked tool must not be used to:

  • Make an employment decision
  • Evaluate a housing application
  • Set credit or insurance terms
  • Determine eligibility for a permit, license, or public benefit
  • Serve any other purpose regulated by the FCRA

A regulated check must come from an authorized, FCRA-compliant source. Follow the official requirements that apply to the specific purpose.

5. No Legal Advice

The website provides general information, not legal advice. Only a licensed Texas attorney can assess how a warrant, conviction, charge, expunction, or nondisclosure rule applies to a specific set of facts.

6. No Warranties

All material is supplied "as is." We do not promise that:

  • A linked provider's result will be complete or correct
  • Every page will always be free from an error or security flaw
  • The service will remain available without interruption
  • All information will be current, complete, and accurate

Criminal files can change when a charge is filed, dismissed, corrected, restricted, or expunged. Gaps and delays can occur. Treat only a record obtained from the responsible court or agency as official.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

A link may lead to a sheriff, court, state agency, legal resource, or outside search provider. We do not control the destination's content, availability, data practices, or fees. Its own policies govern once a visitor leaves this website.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Madison County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, changed, distributed, or used to create another work without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from use of the website, its information, or a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to protect and hold us harmless against a claim or demand caused by your use of the service or violation of these terms, including related legal costs.

11. Governing Law

Texas law governs these terms. A dispute tied to use of the website must be brought in a court located in Texas.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these conditions. A revised version takes effect when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may suspend or end access at any time and without prior notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in effect. The affected provision will be limited only as much as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be sent through the Contact page.
